Eight giant tents surrounded by many dealers in their own tents fill the country corn field for New York’s biggest antiques weekend.
Bouckville, N.Y. – Eight giant tents surrounded by many dealers in their own tents will fill the country corn field for New York’s biggest antiques weekend August 18-20, 2017 , creating the Madison-Bouckville Big Field Antiques Show. Now hosted by Allman Promotions of Clinton, N.Y. the show was begun in 1971 as an event to build more business for the local antiques shops, restaurants and hotels by Jock Hengst who at the time owned Landmark Tavern, the restaurant at the crossroads in Bouckville.
Steve Allman has been rebuilding the show with dealers that supply shopping decorators, other dealers, collectors and homeowners with first time out on the market antiques. Now in his fourth year operating this show but with over 30 year experience in antiques show he has been attracting more dealers back to The Big Field for the weekend shoppers. His work will yield more than 300 exhibitors to The Big Field, making it New York’s largest show, and the highlight of Madison Bouckville’s Antiques week as it always had been.
Shoppers have looked upon The Big Field as the source for the most fresh antiques, the place to go for merchandise that is not shop worn, but first time out in the market place. This is because many of Allman’s exhibitors wait for this show to offer their goods, knowing it will draw the biggest crowds rain or shine to shop the giant tents and field.
Customers enjoy free parking on The Big Field and great food service as well. The Big Field is located between Madison and Bouckville New York, along Route 20 about 25 minutes south of Utica or if coming from the west 30 minutes southeast of Syracuse. There is an early bird opening Friday morning from 8AM until Noon for $25 which is good for the weekend; General admission that day is Noon until 7PM, Saturday 8AM until 5 PM and Sunday 9am until 5PM each $7.
